Autofocus and Measurement Spot Detection
Optimum Focus and Precise Capture of Object Distances
Continuously changing object scenes demand manual or automatic refocus activated by the user. In the event of a change of scene, the permanent autofocus function in the VarioCAM independently adjusts the optimum focus position. The high-performance autofocus position is laser-based and operates extremely reliably. Even under unfavourable environmental conditions, such as poor lighting conditions, darkness or low thermal contrasts on the measured object, this function provides precisely focused thermograms. In combination with the integrated laser range finder, a distance-dependent display of the still faultlessly measurable minimum object size is determined, also known as measurement surface size, and displayed in the daylight-readable, large-scale colour TFT display of the camera. Hence, the user can precisely determine the still permissible distance to the measurement object in order to prevent geometric measuring errors.
This additional information can be inserted into the display of the camera and stored in the thermogram or retrieved if needed. The data can be automatically embedded in report templates and individually created calculation rules.
